3 bedroom for sale, Canonbury Street, Gloucestershire, GL13

Tucked into the heart of Berkeley, this remarkable home has stood for around five hundred years, quietly becoming part of the town’s history along the way. Believed to appear on a 1543 map displayed in the Berkeley Arms, it offers something increasingly difficult to find — genuine character that has evolved naturally over centuries rather than being recreated.

The current owner has lived here for nineteen years, first drawn to the history and then to the way the house simply works for everyday life. Thick stone walls keep the house comfortable through the seasons, while exposed beams and an open fireplace bring warmth and texture without feeling forced or overdone.

Modern updates including the kitchen, bathroom, and boiler ensure the practical side of life feels straightforward, allowing the house to remain easy to live in while respecting its age.

Outside, the south-facing garden captures the sun throughout the day and provides a calm retreat within the centre of town. Canonbury Street itself has a settled, neighbourly feel, with shops, cafés, local services, Berkeley Castle, and open countryside all within walking distance.

It’s a home for buyers who value atmosphere, history, and feeling connected to the place they live.
